We are excited to let you know about our new project "HOPE" - a Gospel centred, missional, life affirming model of pregnancy centre, and to tell you about some opportunities this coming April, where you can find out more about it. We are delighted to have Rebekah Collins heading up this new project with CBR UK. Please see the details below: We will be holding two stand-alone 'vision casting' seminars, one in London and the other in Hove called:  "HOPE”: a New Vision for Pregnancy Centres The Hove 'vision casting' session will be held at the beginning of the first Hove training day. Both the 'vision casting' sessions are open to all who are interested in exploring this new model of Pregnancy Centre, without having to apply to do the entire training course. Registration, however, will be required, and you can do that here. If you are already enthusiastic about this new project, and would like to attend the full training course in Hove, you will need to apply and be approved for a place before purchasing your ticket. An application form is available to fill out online here. We will also be holding a Brephos introductory session on Thursday 23rd April in London, led by Dave Brennan, to share this new vision with church leaders. At this event, Vaughan Roberts will be launching his and Dr Lizzie Ling's brand new book Abortion, part of the Good Book Company’s Talking Points series. Pray for Mission England

Pray as we work train and make presentations via Zoom (cloud-based video conferencing) in anticipation of the opening of the Hope Centre in the UK later in 2020.

We will use the Focus on the Heart Manual, written 

by Rev. Jim Dundas of Hope National.

We also will participate in the pastoral outreaches of CBR's Brephos Project.

There will be a service to celebrate the life of Gordon Olson on February 22nd at 11:00 AM at Grace Church, Bethlehem Campus at 758 Route 10 West, Randolph, NJ 07869. A luncheon will follow the service. I expect there will be time to share memories of Gordon by a couple people during the service and more at the luncheon - details are still being worked out. I believe his children, Joy and Doug, will be in attendance. This may be a good time to gather with other Northeastern alumni.·

New Jersey native, professor at Northeastern Bible CollegeDr. C. Gordon Olson, 90, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at Guggenheimer Nursing Home. He was the husband of 12 years to Dottie Wagner Olson. Born Jan. 24, 1930, in Orange, N.J., he was the son of the late George Nathaniel Olson and the late Iris Thoren Olson.

Gordon was a retired professor for Northeastern Bible College and Liberty University and was a member of Calvary Chapel, Lynchburg. He also was a Christian, theological author, and served the Lord as a missionary to Pakistan for 10 years.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his former wife of 48 years, Miriam E. Olson, and one brother and one sister.

In addition to his wife, Gordon is survived by two children, Douglas J. Olson of Fair Lawn, N.J., and Joyce "Joy" Olson Rogers and her husband, Timothy, of Dade City, Fla.; two grandsons, Tommy McCarthy and Michael McCarthy and his wife, Heather; two great-grandchildren, Malachi McCarthy and Rosealyn McCarthy, and other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Gordon Olson's Celebration of his Life is @ Calvary Chapel 20722 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA Fri. 2/7/20. Visitation is 7:00-7:30 pm. Celebration begins @ 7:30. Anyone can bring Pot Luck Refreshments to put on the tables in the Welcome Center for after his Celebration. The New Jersey service is also being planned in Randolph for February 22nd. I'll post more when I know the details.

Gordon Olson is out of pain completely!! He is in the presence of His Lord & Savior for eternity. He went at 8:55 am on 1/30/2020. He's in glory!!

Please pray for my former professor at Northeastern Bible College. He was the “Bible answer man” on Family Radio WFME where I was an intern. He also was the main speaker giving the challenge at my ordination in 1993.

C. Gordon Olson was converted and called to ministry while studying engineering and majored in theology at Dallas Seminary. Ministering in Pakistan (1956-64), he founded the Pakistan Fellowship of Evangelical Students, ministered in Urdu among indigenous Brethren assemblies, helped organize the Evangelical Fellowship of Pakistan and edited lessons for the Bible Correspondence School.



He has been a trustee member of three missions: Christar, Bible Basics Int., and the Urban LifeSource Connection.



He received the D.Miss. from Trinity International University.

His theology of salvation, Getting the Gospel Right: A Balanced View of Salvation Truth (2005), is viewed as a theological breakthrough in resolving the tension between God’s sovereignty and human free will.


He founded an evangelical student ministry, and today 1600 students participate in 95 Bible study groups. He ministered in Urdu in indigenous Brethren assemblies and in other significant ministries there (1956-64).



He was Professor of Theology and Missions at Northeastern Bible College for 23 years, was pastor of four churches in metro NYC, has spoken in 450 church venues, was a Bible answer man on Family Radio (NYC) for a decade, and a trustee member of four mission agencies over 36 years. His doctorate is from Trinity International University.



His missions text has been widely used in 7 editions since 1990. His unique theology of salvation has had significant impact in 3 editions. He has been an adjunct professor at CIU, Cairn, and Liberty Universities.



Dorothy Wagner Olson, his wife since 2007, taught English at Liberty and is principal editor of all his books.

February 10: Samantha Hopping (mom) writes: is back to his sweet happy little self. He and his brother are home where they belong and we are so blessed for that! Carter got so sick, he was so tiny he couldn’t handle it. He stopped breathing in my arms. He was blue. Thank God I was able to stay calm and God gave me the wisdom to give him cpr and oxygen and get him breathing again. It was an eventful month for us with the two of them being as sick as they were. Thank you for prayers!

One year ago you came early (22 weeks) and we watched you grow stronger and overcome all the obstacles placed before you! Everyone was praying for you! 2-3-2020: Cathy Horling writes: Hi – I just received this note from Tilly Ann:  Good Morning Cathy.  I saw Mighty Max yesterday at the hospital.  He looks so good!  Lord willing he will be home tomorrow.  He is such a miracle and all smiles.  It was so good to see him.

1/23/2020 Update: 11:49pm: Jeremy Hopping (dad) writes: How they been fighting they're doing better though thanks for asking all is well at the moment .. we're not sure yet about how long Carter's going to be (in the hospital) it's all because of the flu that's going around it actually turned into pneumonia Max had the flu and RSV it's two separate viruses that can be deadly when it comes to infants and toddlers Carter just had the flu.. it's been very stressful

1/20/2020 Update: 8:28pm:  Please continue to pray for Mighty Max and Carter. They are improving slowly but today Max had an episode that the doctors believe was a seizure and he is in the ICU. Please pray that the doctors have the wisdom to know  what it was and how to treat it, and for complete healing for these babies.
 
1/15/2020    Pray for Mighty Max: Would you please pray for Mighty Max and his baby brother Carter (who was just born on Christmas)? They are both in the ICU with Respiratory Syncytial Infection, which can be serious in babies. (Cathy Horling)

“We brought dad home with hospice a week ago today. Things have drastically declined over this last week. Dad is no longer able to coherently communicate. He is very confused and anxious. Medication, unfortunately, creates this, but we need to keep him comfortable. Please continue to pray for us as a family as we care for him. Hospice only comes once a day for an hour. This has been a very exhausting, emotional, and trying time. Please especially pray for Dad. Pray that his anxiety is calmed so that he can enter peacefully into the loving arms his Father, Jesus Christ. Thank you to all who have prayed with us over this past year. Thank you also for all of the beautiful and moving tributes to Dad.”

Dearest Family and Friends,

Many of you have been here from the beginning of this battle with pancreatic cancer. You have been loyal, faithful, loving, supportive...in short you’ve modeled what true friendship and family means.

We’ve just received word confirmed by a multitude of medical experts that we have overwhelmingly won the war (Romans 8:31-39). The cancer now surrounds multiple blood vessels, including the one that feeds the colon.

In short, that explains the severe symptoms of pain. This cancer is no longer treatable. While I write this now, it will likely be my last opportunity. 

I’m so thankful, forever thankful, that our hope in this life and the next, rests wholly upon what He has done for us. That is settled and cannot be altered! It is finished.

I’m in the process of surrendering the last days and hours to Him. Again, I ask you the same as I did when we began, please join us in prayer. The victory is around the corner.
